Whether right to education is fundamental right in India ?


Ye right to education is a fundamental right in India . Article 21 A of the Indian constitution states as :-
The state shall provide free and compulsory education to all children of the age of six to fourteen years in such a manner as the state may , by law determine .
India became one of 135 countries to make education a fundamental right of every child when the act came into force on 1 April 2010.


The 86th amendment of the constitution in India in 2002 got inserted Article 21-A which is, free and compulsory education for all the children between 6 to 14 years old. This article made education a fundamental right for every child.
