A woman candidate, who passed the written test, whether can be granted further chance to undergo endurance test (physical efficiency) for the reason that she was in advanced stage of pregnancy?
High Court of Kerala way back in 2000 had held that a woman candidate cannot be compelled to undergo endurance test at a time when it was dangerous to her life as well as that of the baby in her womb.
Refusal on the part of Public Service Commission to grant extension of time, when selection list was not finalised, is not proper. Court further held that Motherhood and childhood are entitled to special care and assistance.
