NRI complaints to be sent to NRI police wing


CHANDIGARH: All complaints related to NRI's should be sent to the NRI police wing so that they could be disposed at the earliest. 

Presiding over a meeting here on Saturday at the head office of the NRI police wing to review the progress of all the 11 NRI police stations IGP Gurpreet Kaur Deo said that Punjab governmenthas established independent NRI police Wing for the speedy and transparent disposal of NRI complaints

She instructed all the officers that all the complaints should be dealt on merit without any discrimination and zero tolerance of corruption in the department. 

IGP Deo said that this year, 3,200 complaints regarding NRI issues have been received and out of which 60% are related to property disputes, 30 matrimonial disputes and 10 other type of disputes. She said that out these complaints 65% have been disposed off. She added that total 270 FIR's have been registerd related to NRI issues out of which 160 have been registered at NRI Police stations. 

Heads of the NRI police stations will register FRI after proper investigation and all the evidence should be put on record. She also said that all complaints should be dealt on merit and no discrimination would be tolerated.
