How to make complaint against water wastage

Stop Water Wastage
I have recently moved to this place and the locality next to mine is a relatively older one with 2-floor buildings built in the 70s and 80s. The building next to mine wastes a lot of water. Over the past few weeks i have observed that the overhead tank starts to overflow around 3-4am and continues to overflow till 8-9am till someone turns off the pump. Again, during the day the tank overflows at least a couple of times and continues till someone notices. There is no garden or anything and this huge amount of water just goes to waste. I learn from people that they had a leakage problem in the top floors because of this and instead of regulating the water overflow, they just waterproofed the terrace.

In times where so much emphasis is being laid on water conservation in Mumbai, i feel the need to do something about a situation that the lethargic, irresponsible, apathetic residents of the building have failed to do. :@ But i want to do so in a hush-hush manner cause after all they are neighbors (in a way).

Please help.1

You can complaint to Mumbai Municipality on their website: http://www.mcgm.gov.in/
I had complained for mosquito problem on their website and they addressed it within a week!

Another option would be to call the Municipality water wastage helpline number 108. My father had complained on it about a leaking pipe in a public place and they fixed it in 4 days and even called back to inform that the leakage was fixed.

Hope this helps.

p.s.: It takes courage to win over inaction. Go for it and don't rest until the water is saved! All of us are lazy but in the long term people will always appreciate your good intentions and action (rather than let it go and say "chalta hain, kya karne ka".
